Twins!

Mama and babies… just right of center

No… no baby yet, and given all the pre-natal care and images today, I’m pretty sure none of my friends are going to surprise us with twins.

Last week, we got our first glimpses at the twin fawns in our woods.   The girls somehow know that barking and being obnoxious is inappropriate, so we’ve been able to get some good looks, even if that doesn’t translate into good photos.

It’s refreshing to just enjoy the beauty of nature and the circle of life with all of the chaos in the news.

How do you recharge when life is pushing your buttons?

I’m so glad the girls know not to bark at the babies. Our son took Max for a walk after taking him home last week. He found a new baby deer and went up to it and barked. The mom came running at him from the trees and kicked him with her hoof. Max limped home and after being checked out by the vet, has sworn off speaking to deer forever!! We are now singing a song about “Max got run over by a reindeer, coming home from Grandma’s Sunday night!”

Oh I love baby deer! How sweet. I’m glad the girls know not to be apes about it. When life is out of control, well then I head to the basement where it’s nice and cool and play with fabric while listening to Gibbs. Comforting indeed. g

What a wonderful site! As for recharging when life is pushing your buttons, I’m not sure yet… I’m trying to do that right now myself.

When stress levels get too high, I spend time in the yard with the dogs. If it’s tru that stroking a dog lowers blood pressure, I should live to be 200.

When life gets too crazy, I withdraw and regroup. I let the phone ring and don’t answer the door bell. It’s those times that I read, knit, or watch a good movie.

Better in your yard than in mine. Sadly, I know the suckers are in my yard, too, plotting how to best kill my trees and shrubbery. Evil Deer!

I usually kick back with a cold beer and some SVU re-runs, but lately I have to take the later alone. Life has been the kind of crazy that I can’t escape from as of late (not that it is always a bad thing.) I’m starting to get really excited!

I’m knitting more now that it’s summer. I think I’ve been letting life push my buttons too much though. Rough night with Holly last night…and though I worked through it today it kept me in knots until 5pm.

  9. Love your twins. I ran away to the beach for a few hours on Saturday…just to escape from “normal” life, which has been anything but normal lately! We didn’t do much…just out in the sun (getting burned) and reading. It was lovely.

Had to laugh at Katherine’s song above. Hope Max is okay.

Knitting for someone who needed a hug last Thursday–hoping to finish it before I get off the plane tomorrow night.

How fun to have twin fawns in your woods! I’m glad the girls know not to bark at them 🙂

  15. Usually I recharge by taking a nap. For some reason, that resets my stress-meter like nothing else. Barring that, I stress eat. Neither one are very healthy, though. 😉 Love the picture of the fawns.
