In Honor of Labor…

Labor Day, that is, not the labor that a friend might soon be in…

I have to admit that this is one of those holidays I don’t “celebrate”.  Please do click on the link above, and if you read nothing else, scroll down to the last paragraph, and join me in pondering how our lives are better because of the labor movements of the previous centuries.  PLEASE don’t get political on me; I just thought that perhaps others might need to pause and appreciate the origins of the day off many Americans will enjoy on Monday.

So, regardless of whether this is a long weekend for you or not, what’s on your agenda?  I have absolutely nothing on mine.  I plan to get the Knight to restore my wheel to working order, and then I’ll spin, knit, play with Sissy, eat, sleep, etc.  until it’s time to come to work Tuesday morning.

Happy weekend!

Interesting link. My weekend will involve knitting, and getting the house in order (yikes) and a family bbq on Sunday for my great-nephew’s 6 y/o bday. I might bring knitting. I’m looking forward to being off on Monday!
    Enjoy yours.

Just grocery shop tomorrow then who knows…lol Hopefully lots of crocheting and dog playing. May wash off the back patio and let Lady have fun in the water…lol I know Coco will stay in for that…poor baby!
Hope you have fun and the Knight gets your wheel fixed. Can’t wait to see what you do. Make it a good one!

    Knitting, knitting, knitting,
    let’s just keep on knitting,
    keep on knitting sweaters, ya-hooo
(sung to the tune of Rawhide, in your head of course)

But seriously, I will be taking the DMF (that would be the dear man-friend) to a cookout in Montpelier on Sunday. One couple I know well (the hosts), one couple I have met, and two couples I know not at all… should be fun.

Did I mention that I wanted to get some knitting done?

Knitting and working in the yard. 🙂 We bought landscape edging today, so hopefully that will get installed this weekend.

Knitting, knitting and more knitting. And sending the Loyal Subjects downstairs to the yarn stash room for more yarn :).
Have a nice quiet and enjoyable weekend.

I’ll be napping, knitting, napping, grocery shopping, napping, knitting, napping, saving my sister from herself (shopping), napping, spinning, napping and possibly more napping! LOL

Hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend!! 🙂

I vacummed the living room – isn’t that enough labor for one long weekend? hee hee Actually, I plan to try to get some organizign of either the soon to be master br or the sunroom done… PLAN… its 2:30 on Sat and nothing done yet. Maybe I’ll get to making some new markers for the Etsy shop with all the pretty new fall charms I got!

Plans? Geeze, right now I’m just taking things one day at a time and not making any. Why do I still feel overwhelmed? ha ha…

I’m doing as little as possible that requires me to “labor”! I’m with you…knitting, napping and some spinning is my plan!
