Wish Y’all Were Here

It was a red flag day again Sunday on the beach – which means no swimming – but we still had a great time with the Knight’s brother and his family.  We walked the beach, collecting shells, laughing.  Sissy still doesn’t like the ocean, but we’ve decided the water is just too cold for her.  (I know it’s not a water problem because she got in the shower with me AFTER we came off the beach, but also wouldn’t let us hose her off with the rather cold water in the rinse-off stall…)

Sissy avoided the surf like a pro, but got caught off-guard a couple of times and got wet.  Even with my camera on “action” settings, I couldn’t capture a good photo of her in the ocean, so this is what you get.

But thanks only to Jessi and her HTML tutorial.  Seems that OBX wireless takes me to a new page (not WINDOW!) for uploading, and that’s the problem.  Today, WordPress correctly says I have 97.3 or some such storage left, which is about right.  I think I was just REALLY confused and frustrated yesterday… And yes, I’m correct, because it won’t let me link to Jessi without the warning that we’re navigating to another page and all unsaved work will be lost.  I suspect this will be my last post until I get home and/or figure out what the problem is.  I’ve reset things to allow for pop-ups, so I’m not sure what the problem is… but I’m blaming the free OBX wireless, which insists on running banner ads above whatever I’m doing.

I just spent another five minutes messing with my settings and allowing all pop-ups, but nothing helps.  Strange.  Can’t even remember what I was going to tell you, so I think I’ll just add a few photos of Sunday’s beach time and wish you well until Friday morning, unless I really get the hang of this HTML stuff.  (And why did it work just fine for that first photo and the link to the Tale of the Whale?)

If you get a chance, try to have dinner at Ocean Boulevard – its on the Beach Road in Kitty Hawk. Its pricey, but oh so good. We always sit at the chef’s table so we can watch them cook. YUM.

Hard to believe I’m right here at the beach every day & never go down there! Silly me!

Sissy looks to be having a good time even if she doesn’t like the cold water, can’t blame her for that!

  6. I was jealous before the great pics! Somehow it amuses me that Sissy doesn’t like cold water, rather than she doesn’t like water. Something to grin about, yeah!

Oh my!!! I wish I was there with you too! I love the beach at this time of the year. It’s so nice that the weather is still nice out but it’s not so crowded out. Enjoy the rest of the week and don’t worry about all of us here farther inland. Enjoy the coast while you can.

Wonderful pictures of the beach! I’m so glad you found an answer to why your storage seemed off. I’m completely helpless if anything goes wrong on the computer – so can empathise.
