Wine-y Dogs

gse_multipart112972Happy Dogs on Thursday!  It’s a dreary, rainy day here, but we need the rain so…

Be sure to check the group’s blog for news on a contest that starts today.   It’s not too late to join our group and get in on the contest either!

I had photos for you, but my camera is at home.  I’m blaming it on my allergies, but boy have I been in a fog of late!  Bear with me, and we’ll just make do.

pinot_grigioLast week, I found a wine bottle that entertained me.   The label on my bottle is a little different, and the foil seal (hem, hem… it’s actually a twist-top, which I hadn’t noticed until I opened the bottle last night) even has paw prints on it.  I wish I could tell you I have a new, inexpensive favorite, but I found the earthy undertones undrinkable.   I thought perhaps it was my allergy tastebuds, but the Knight dropped his head into the glass and inhaled, and came up coughing.   He refused to taste it.

That’s unfortunate, because I love that they support Guide Dogs for the Blind.  Guide Dogs is one of my pet PET charities, so I would love to have a “house wine” that supports them!  I’ll give the other non-reds a try if I can find them locally.

My own girls are a bit whiney too.  They resent Sissy’s new restrictions, but they’re learning to hunt in the house.   Watching how single-minded Sissy gets when her eyes lock on a bird, squirrel, or whatever, I know we’ve made the right choice to keep BOTH dogs safe.

This is how they pout.   That’s the wallpaper on my cell right now.  The Knight took that photo Sunday afternoon.  I love how Sissy has her big ol’ melon on Gretchen!

Happy little friday to you.  I should have some fiber content for you tomorrow.

Oh! Congrats to Sonya for winning the Blogiversary Contest.  Most of you found Sissy, but here’s a close-up for clarification.

Sonya, email me with your address and I’ll get your prize in the mail.

Thanks to everyone who participated.  I’m going to see about doing some fur-girl videos once in a while, and I’ll try to continue to keep it interesting.

Nothing like a glass of wine all in the name of charity!

Cute wine bottle – sorry it was horrible. It might be your medicine head, but probably not. Cute photo of the girls – I totally thought Sissy was the branch on the other side of the photo. g

OK, so it was her EAR that I saw – I thought it was a leg! 🙂 I once brought a bottle of wine to Kemtee – it was called Dyed in the Wool and it was from NZ. It too had a screw cap, which I didn’t notice until it was too late. It was pretty horrible. Beware wine with screw caps. 🙂

I love the pictures of the fur girls – I know how they feel…

CUTE bottle & great cause… now if only good wine too. I have one of the Vicktory Dogs wine bottles that Matt got me for Christmas… it wasn’t cheap by any means, so I’m hoping its GOOD wine as well…

    Cute pout…

I’m starting to get in my own allergy fog over here… blah.

    Congrats Sonya!

  7. That pic of your girls is precious. They ARE cute when they pout 🙂

  8. Sue says:

I can almost her what Sissy’s thinking to herself in that picture. That girl does a great pout. Fudge has a good pout, too.

Love the wine bottle, too bad the wine tastes like it came out of the doghouse. Ugh.

The spring air here is killing me. I’ve been taking allergy meds and inhalers. I’m going to spend today image editing for the kids multi media project. Times have sure changed. I’m not helping them cut and paste on paper…we’re cutting and pasting in photoshop. Sheesh.

  10. grace says:

congrats to Sonya and I wish I could have some wine!

Doggie pouts are always so cute!

The wine info is FABULOUS!! (too bad the stuff inside wasn’t to your liking!) I’m not a big wine drinker, myself, but I luv the idea of the funds going to charity…*especially* such a worth-while one. I’ll definitely pass this info on to my wine-drinking pals, tho…well, the “idea” part, anyway, maybe *not* taste part! LoL

Happy DoT, and have a dog-gone good weekend ahead!

  13. Marjie says:

The 2 girls snuggling are so cute! And I’d have bought that bottle with the dog cartoon on the label, too. We all have our loyalties to our most faithful friends!

  14. Bubblesknits says:

Those are definitely some sad eyes. On Sissy at least. Oh well…I’m regularly the bad guy around here, too. Welcome to the mean mommy club. SNOL

As for the allergies, my car was only out of the garage yesterday for 20 minutes and it’s completely yellow now. ::shudder::

  15. AlisonH says:

How you could resist eyes like those…

  16. Kim says:

Too bad you couldn’t have gotten a pic of his reaction after the wine sniffing! Sissy and Gretchen are quite the pair and such sweet girls! Happy DOT!

  17. Natalie says:

I totally didn’t find her. Sissy is just too cute!! She’ll be ok!

    Happy DOT!!!

  18. To be sure, those two dogs all snuggled up together is over-the-top cuteness! Too bad about the wine…at least you can keep the label.

  19. Tobi says:

Too bad that wine wasn’t too your liking… sure is some cute packaging though. Might make a nice single stem vase or something. Love the picture of the girls pouting together… I also refer to one of my dog’s as Sissy – and the other one is Sis. I use those terms when I’m talking for them. But you probably got that.

  20. Robin says:

Maybe the rain will help your allergies. What a cute cuddle picture!!

  21. Sue J. says:

Oh, that picture of the two girls cuddled up is just adorable!!!!

  22. Felicia says:

Sounds like that wine spent too much time in the dog house!

  23. Thanh says:

What a shame the wine isn’t very good. I’m always looking for a new wine for Matt, and this one is so cute.

  24. Anita says:

Awww, sweet photo of the girls. And just how could they not be entertaining? LOL

You better watch Sissy hunting in the house, she might start hunting things you don’t want caught, like fiber, needles, yarn, bobbins… SNOL

  25. That is a fantastic background for your phone! Congrats Sonya!! I like puppy hide-and-go-seek!

  26. Dianne says:

Love the pouting picture. So very sweet!

  27. Kathy says:

Love the pouty faces. Boy that Sissy knows how to give those puppy dog looks, doesn’t she? But you did the right thing and it’s always hard to be a disciplined parent. But it’s for the best.

Love the picture though, they are such cuties.

  28. Kathy says:

Opps! Forgot to give well deserved Congrats to the winner!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!

  29. Miss Me says:

congrats to sonya! “earthy” undertones? blech!!! although the bottle is adorable…
