Wait No More

I mentioned Tuesday that dear Ann came bearing gifts.  Some of you have patiently waited for the photos, but all of you will benefit from Anita‘s nudges that she wanted to see!

They’re a little larger than life, but I want you to see the detail in MJ’s earrings.

These are mine.  I told Ann when I opened them at lunch that while SHE was saying for me to pick first (and I would have wanted the blues), MJ was going to HAVE to have the lilac pair.

The designer has requested an in-ear photo, so we’ll get that tomorrow.  (And yes, with a bit of luck, it will get posted tomorrow too.)

Ann also presented me with a copy of a family member’s cookbook.   While I love the cover and the title, there’s a special recipe inside by none other than Anne’s own Master G!  MJ has requested a sample of the cake, so maybe for Mother’s Day?

On a bittersweet note, our last Wollmeise sock club kit arrived.  It was my turn to pick, so I selected this hank:

I also got custody of a stranded knitting pattern we agreed neither of us will likely use, a stitch marker, a little pouch (which MJ also claimed), and a tiny packet of gummy bears, which the Knight insisted Ann sent FOR him…  It was a great club, and I’m so glad Ann asked me to share it with her!  (Now that’s the definition of friendship in fiber-speak… someone who shares her Wollmeise…)

Well, PHEW.  We’re about caught up now.  I hope I have something left to talk about tomorrow…

Have not ever knit that yarn – is it lovely? Does it knit in stripes or random? It’s very pretty. Have I seen finished knitting on your blog lately? or socks? Just wondering . . . .

Oh! How could I forget to say that the earings are lovely and they will go a long ways toward upping the ante – which I’m failing on today (jeans, danskos, sweater & cardi – no makeup, no jewelry).

(hanging head in shame as she goes back to work) g

Two posts in one day? I’m impressed. Very pretty yarn, but same question, does it stripe or random color? What are you going to do with all this pretty yarn you’ve been accumulating lately?

Well, to everyone who has admired the earrings – thank you, and let everyone know that sure, I’ll make them!

I must say that your photos are superb. As for the cake, as I said, it’s a very dense cake, and very moist. We tend to put pecans it it, which sink to the bottom and give it a really great flavor and texture.

I’ll always share my wollmeise with you…
