She’s a Wild One

… with an angel’s face…

The Knight found this hat Saturday, and I couldn’t help myself; it came home with us.  Gretchen was surprisingly content to wear it.    She does prefer to wear it MUCH further back on her head (more like a collar), but she actually wasn’t pleased when we took it off of her so she could go outside.

Happy Dogs on Thursday to you.   Please pop over and read the great post on protecting your pets in the event that they get lost.  For the record, our girls are micro chipped and registered with Home Again.

Today is also Shadow’s birthday.   I believe he’s three, but it might be four.  He’s not very happy with the birthday ‘do MJ got him on Tuesday.  She asked the groomer for a summer cut, and well…

You decide.  Here’s another photo of Shadow, with his more natural look:

Now, it might feel cooler, but the poor boy isn’t happy at all.  Their other sheltie is getting groomed today, and I sure hope Nick doesn’t get scalped too!

Happy little friday!

Gretchen is such a hoot in that hat! Poor Shadow looks so embarrassed. 😦

A wild one indeed! I should scan in the shot of Lola with her Harley hat on from quite a few years back… and see if I can FIND said hat for Sophie to try!

Happy Birthday Shadow… I think your cut is quite lovely.

Well I’ve never seen a nekkid sheltie before, I bet he’s mortified to not have his beautiful cut. Did he need to be cooler? I thought you were in the middle of moonsoon season.

Love Miss Gretchen in the hat and the music quote. Have a great little Friday. I wanna go to the zoo. g

    Happy Birthday Shadow!

That hat is just toooo perfect for Lil Miss Gretchen! Love it!

    Happy DOT!

Just a “little” wild?! ;0) Love the hat.

I don’t know that I would want to walk around ‘naked’ either. Hopefully it grows in quickly.

  6. Sue says:

Gretchen can play on our team with her hat. Lucy had a little Harley cap, too. It won’t fit anyone else.

The first time Morgan was sheared she hid for about a week. He was terribly embarrassed.

Love Gretchen’s wild hat. 🙂 Oh, poor Shadow. I think dogs are embarrassed after getting a haircut! My neighbors used to shave their Goldens in the summer…I thought they looked ridiculous.

Did you hear me burst out laughing at that first picture? That’s wonderful!

Fur is like hair, it grows back… Or at least I keep telling myself, since I lost half my hair to being sick last winter. Grow grow grow!

The friend with the pony also has collies. His are scalped in the summer, too, and they don’t seem to like it. Shadow is a cute 4 year old!

Glad Gretchen has found a hat she can live with.

  10. Bridget says:

It should be illegal to be as cute as Gretchen is, wearing that hat!

Shadow does look kind of sad, but I’ll bet things will pick up with his feelings once the summer hear really takes hold.

Oh my goodness!!! I almost didn’t recognize the poor guy! lol We had Puss “trimmed” once and I swear, she glared at us for weeks.

  12. Tobi says:

Happy Birthday Shadow! Now I have the song Born to be Wild stuck in my head.

  13. StarSpry says:

Gretchen looks adorable in that hat! Poor Shadow 😦 I think they went a little too short with his grooming! I hope he can have a happy birthday anyway 🙂

  14. Cynthia says:

If I had that much hair I would be happy to get a trim like that!!

  15. Anita says:

Happy Birthday to Shadow!! Poor little guy… our Maggie always hated getting her hair cut no matter how hot it got. 🙂

Gretchie is adorable in that hat! Cept that one should be Sissy’s! LOL

  16. Shadow…Gracie loves to have her summer ‘do and feels like it is running nekkid! You look absolutely adorable, I want to hug you!! Hopefully, you will enjoy the growing back process.

Love the Wild hat on that pup!!

  17. Dianne says:

Gretchen needs to flip one of her ears back while wearing that hat. I can’t help but laugh when dogs get shaved like that. It has to be so much cooler, but it’s hilarious!

  18. Kathy says:

SNOL……..Gretchen is following her sister. LOL
Oh dear. Poor Shadow. instead of a hat, maybe he would like a body slinky:)

  19. Felicia says:

I always get a kick out of how embarrassed dogs get when they have their summer hair cut!

  20. Alicia says:
