Called on Account of Rain

gse_multipart112972Happy Dogs on Thursday

Pout.  I was planning a post based on a play date we were going to have with a four-legged friend last night, but due to flash flooding, there was no meet-up with the mastiff pup.  No rain check was offered, I’m afraid.

I’m skipping the County Fair tonight because the girls need a little more attention than they’ve had thus far this week.  (Gretchen looks cranky or mean there, doesn’t she?!)

I’d also planned to photo some of their favorite toys, but the weather hasn’t cooperated, so maybe I’ll get that done another time for Dogs N More.  In the meantime, I’ll just flash some silly girls photos.

We need to work on Gretchen’s hiding skills.  Of course, if the deer would leave the garden alone, that would help…

We should all be more like Sissy and just let go laughing, all the time.

I’m enjoying finding photos of my girls being silly.   Their ability to make me laugh works when we’re not in the same place!

I’ll let Sissy offer the final bit of advice for the post.  Life’s an adventure, and you can always find something interesting if you look hard enough!  Or maybe she’s trying to find a phone number to call someone who cares?

Happy little friday!

My Uncle’s St Bernard used to hide the same way. She’d put her head under the coffee table and no one could see her. Of course, we had to pretend not to see the huge body sticking out in the middle of the room.

It’s raining here too, hope it clears for our trip to the lake tomorrow.

A Mastiff pup should be so cute. Of course, next to Gretchen he’d look like a giant terrier eating monster.

No rain here in the capital (ol?) last night – on southside anyhow… Dogs are funny hiding, aren’t they? Ours when I was a kid used to get on the bed under the covers to hide from our mom (Honey was not allowed on the bed so she thought if she couldn’t see MOM, MOM couldn’t see her either). We’d all play along and then the dog would be amazed when she got wacked on the rump with something by mom. Good memories. Thanks for the smiles!

Gretchy does like PO’d in that first photo. What did you do to her?

I’ve seen Thor’s baby photos – a mastiff puppy would be fun.

And Sissy and her adventures. She’s a character all right. What a bunch of fun, silly photos today. Thank you. g

Awwww, sad! You would have loved the mastiff pup! Just remember Thor’s response to the encyclopedia article – mastiffs are smart! Sissy does look like she’s getting ready to call someone. Maybe she didn’t like the numbers on the books?

Great to see the girls playing with their blue PD ball! Their snowball should be arriving tomorrow…

    I would say that’s Gretchie’s “perturbed” look… hee hee

    Great pics!

  6. I absolutely love the laughing Sissy photo! It is such a classic, you should make something ‘permanant’ from that one. Glad to hear the girls get top billing tonight…I’m sure you’ll all benefit from the time together.

    Love the puppy pictures!

Our neighbors got a mastiff puppy last year. She is a sweet thing, but afraid of her own shadow …

  8. Walden says:

Gretchen does look a little too serious in the first one. I love the picture of Sissy laughing! Great photos.

  9. Dianne says:

Is Sissy winking in that laughing photo? She is just adorable. Love the picture with Gretchen’s ear flipped back. That gets me every time!

I love those silly quips with silly photos to boot! Your dogs are a hoot! Sissy with her “laughing” pose or the wind in her ears or whatever, just makes me want to run up and give her rubs forever! The way gretchen is licking her lips toward that ball is great… She really wants it!

    Love your girls!

Looking at that first photo, I’d say it’s clear they were both very disappointed that they didn’t get their playdate! I love the silly pictures – they are so very, very cute!
