Too Hot to Chase

Happy Dogs on Thursday!    Just a quick little friday post here…  I’m hoping that after tomorrow, life will return to normal, but don’t hold your breath.

The girls finally got up a quick thank you to Mr. Bettis and his family on their blog, but we’re all tired of this heat, and we’re just half-way through July!

We’re wondering how you and your pack burn off all that doggy energy when it’s just too hot outside for chasing lizards and such?

The girls will do a bit of indoor chasing and “wrasslin'”, but it’s never enough.  Sissy wakes up in the middle of the night, restless.   Gretchen wears us all out wanting to go out, then we have to get her back in before she overheats, then she wants to go back out…

Thankful Thursday?  Well, thank goodness tomorrow’s Friday.  How ’bout that?!  No?  Okay then, how ’bout thank you to all those grand gents at the firehouse who buy me a soda here and there?!  I really do appreciate it, especially when I’ve known some of them since before they got an allowance.  I joke that I’m going to leave everyone who is or ever was a member of our little station $35 to cover all the 35 cent Diet Pepsis they’ve gotten me over the years.   It really is those small gestures that make me smile!

What little thing makes you smile?

That first picture of your girls – it’s wonderful! Watching Dudley camp out on the floor. Coming home late and seeing JB sitting on the sofa waiting for me. Being crafty. The generousity of my blog friends. 🙂 g

This heat and humidity is awful. The dogs run outside all excited and in two minutes they’re crowding around the door to come back in again.

Samba has been waking me a couple times a night for the past week to go outside. Then she just stands there looking around. Bailey started barking at 3:30 this morning to get up and start the day. She was told to go back to sleep, but I couldn’t get back to sleep.

We’re hoping to get a few of them to the lake next week and let them swim off some energy.

That first picture! All the energy and enthusiasm and smiling sense of home wrapped up in one great visual.

That first picture is great! I love to see those doggy smiles and flopping ears.

We try to get Lucy out as early as possible to beat the heat. It’s still hot and humid and we don’t get as much exercise as in cooler weather, but the intensity is the same so it works.

I too am thankful it’s almost Friday!

As I just said to the porky UPS guy who loves Thor, I’m not going to gripe about the heat, since we never got summer until halfway through August last year. Thor’s not doing a lot of outside time, although he does try to follow the boys. Then he moans at the door to come back in. It’s all part of being owned by a dog!

  6. Weet pics of the ggrrls in “better” weather…As for my pack, they get walked in the morning, before the heat is too much, and if lucky, again in the evening. Truth is, Misty is fine even without a walk, and Sasha will chase a ball in the house, if she has to…

The girls sound like my kids. They’re so tired of being cooped up in the house. Granted, our little trip to Atlanta helped, but I sure am glad school starts back in 3 weeks.

a little thing I am thankful for The mute button on the remote, sometimes you just need it with all of the inane commercials that are out there!!

What makes me laugh? Pictures of Sissy modeling new attire (and even some of the old) Ok. You said smile not laugh.
