Miss Minerva’s

I’ve blogged about downtown Culpeper before.  The last couple of times I’ve been, I’ve seen Miss Minerva’s, but didn’t have time to stop.   I still haven’t been in, but that’s the beauty of a BFF…  I merely mentioned it existed to Bec, and voila!  Some of the special Christmas blend showed up in my pile of presents.   It’s a lovely, spiced black tea that’s just right on a frigid winter morning.  Gretchen likes the aroma too, but Sissy doesn’t seem to be impressed; she’d rather the Knight share some of his Apple Jacks and/or the milk!

Doesn’t that photo – borrowed from their website – make you want to meet me there?

We interupt my posting to share that begging works; both dogs are licking the Kight’s cereal bowl clean.  He did eat all the cereal, but he evidently poured extra milk with the intent to share all along.  Hem.

Back to the blogging at hand.

I’m also reading more of the Tea Shop cozies.  They’re perfect reading at the moment.  And G, I’ve “met” Angie Davis now, so feel free to rant away about whatever you wanted to say when you stopped because I didn’t know who she was…

How was your weekend?  I have a finished object to share eventually, and we had a nice birthday dinner for Dae and two friends Saturday night.  I’m knitting away on the baby blanket for a friend due oh… next week?, and waiting for the next big snow.  We had a bit over the weekend.  Snow makes me happy!

Don’t forget that January is National Hot Tea Month.   Too bad I don’t have time to go to Miss Minerva’s with a friend or two…

As I always say, weekend was far too short….. but it was a fun one! Yesterday was our LAZY day at home and boy were the Lapdogs happy with that… snuggling all day long!

We had 3″ between Friday and Saturday, but up here, that’s just a nuisance. They didn’t even think of calling off school Friday, despite the fact that it was snowing from 3AM on! The weekend was quiet, 2 of the girls back to college safely, and Thor depressed that they’re gone…

I bought a couple of boxes of Chai, but I’m not sure I’ve found the one for me. My kids really like Moroccan Mint Tea (moroccan tea buds, fresh mint, and raw sugar). It’s yum…but I’m not sure where you can buy the tea buds around here. They’re nice because you can dump them in the tea pot and they sink so they don’t end up in your cup even without a tea ball.

    Praying for you this morning!

I did nothing all weekend. Been praying for you this morning. I’ll be happy to share my thoughts, but how was she introduced? As a cousin right? Just wait.

Tea looks lovely – I’ve drank gallons of it this weekend – sweet lemon has been the flavor of choice. g

  5. Miss Minervas does indeed look like somewhere I’d enjoy meeting you! Perhaps we can do that sometime soon!

We didn’t get any snow yesterday, though it was promised. It has started snowing now within the last house and though there is just a trace on the ground, all the area schools are closing. The dogs are very disappointed.

Tea and snow days just seem to go together.

That looks like a great place for tea!

Do you drink tea while reading your Tea Shop books?

I love a good tea room! We’ll have to check this one out some time, as I’ve never explored much of Culpeper.

I also like Shaharazade’s in Sheperdstown, WV.

Not to mention Serenity Tearoom in Frederick, MD.

I just happen to be having tea right now.. Trying to warm up. Time to put some fingerless gloves on in this cold house I am having Caribou coffee’s holiday tea. Can’t wait to see your finished knit. Snow is coming to us tomorrow and I am delighted about it. Let winter be winter!

A bird right at hand was worth two way over in front of the bushes.

You’ve reminded me….It’s getting cold here tomorrow so I’ll serve hot tea to my meeting!
Wish we lived closer so we could meet for tea! Nothing I enjoy more.

Hope all goes well with your girl.

We actually had a really nice snowfall on Sunday, but sadly, no snowday yesterday. I hope everything is going well for Sissy!

We’ll have to make a future date for Miss Minerva. Thinking of Sissy (and you all) in her recovery.

Hoping Sissy is doing really well!!

Snow–no thank you, not anymore please–if it can’t snow for Christmas it doesn’t have to snow at all!

I was so sad to learn that Sissy is having surgery. Please know that she is in my thoughts and prayers.
