As the Dress Turns Conclusion

So.  The Dillard’s dress showed up Wednesday night.   It’s a dark ORANGE.  Hem.  Longtime readers will recall I don’t do orange.  Because it was so much brighter than this photo shows, its metallic element was also more… sparkly and less shimmery.   It also just wasn’t the right style for me and my body.

The good news is it can go back without shipping fees, by returning it to my not-quite-local Dillard’s store.  Yeah, gas is expensive too, but it’s been a while since we’ve ventured to the big city, so we’ll do that soon.

Good thing I didn’t count on that dress arriving on time and/or being perfect!

I’m looking forward to a weekend with lots of time with friends.  I’m not excited about Daylight Savings Time arriving so soon, but it is what it is.  Does it mess with your internal clock?

What’s on your weekend agenda?

I am looking forward to the time change. I am hoping it messes up Cory’s schedule for a little while so I can sleep a little later!!! 😉 Or at least feel like I am.

  2. gMarie says:

It does mess horribly with my internal clock, but I’m looking forward to being able to walk the dogs in the evening again. Sorry the dress didn’t work out – but you didn’t have the right shoes for it anyway! 😉 g

I’m looking forward to the time change. Instead of getting up at 4 AM with the dogs, we’ll get to sleep till 5.

Too bad about the dress. It looked so good in the photo.

  4. Nichole says:

    Dillard’s = NOT shopping there.
The “new” dress you found is so much nicer than this one… and a steal too! 🙂
    Have fun…

Well, the time change will mess with me this weekend. Hubband is off to school and has a plane at 6, so needs a ride to the airport and it takes 35 minutes form here. So, I will be up way earlier than normal, and earlier than his last school trip. He did say that it explains why his plane leaves from ORD an hour earlier than usual but still gets in at the same time; they don’t change for a few more weeks.
Good thing you had that other way more beautiful dress!

There is a conference tomorrow where one of the speakers is the rock star of lupus researchers, and the FDA approved, two days ago, the first new lupus drug in 56 years. I could almost walk to that conference, if it didn’t mean sun exposure.

That is supposed to be orange? Right. And I’m a purple cow. Whatever. My law school daughter is coming home tonight for her last ever spring break. The job hunt is on, and so far it isn’t pretty.

I really hate the spring forward thing, especially this early in the year. They’re doing the fall back thing too late, too, but no one listens to me, now do they?

    Happy weekend, Chan.

  8. Louise says:

    Love the title, Channon.

Well good thing you had a back-up and hey a “trip to the big city” sounds like a shop and dine kinda day to me. Get a sitter for the girls and Go Shopping!!!

  9. Orange is for fruit and poppies, not dresses! Glad you had the other (which I like better anyway). Yes, I hate time changes, and truly believe we should be on Standard time…always!

  10. Mr. Puffy says:

Sorry the dress was a disappointment ~ but maybe you’ll find the perfect dress when you visit the store to make the return!

YES Daylight Savings DOES mess with my internal clock!!!!

  11. Amy says:

I am so sorry that the dress was orange. Ugh. Don’t you just hate when you order something and it turns out to be do different in person? I had that happen once with a few dresses that I ordered from Newport News. The one was a pretty antique lace color and when it arrived … it was yellow. Yellow!

I work this weekend, which means I only have to do an 11 hour shift on Saturday night. That’s always nice.

  12. Walden121 says:

Sorry it didn’t work! At least you already got the back up dress.

  13. Bubblesknits says:

Sounds like your order didn’t go any better than mine. : ( Poo.

I loathe the time change, especially this particular one. Don’t take away my sleep! I turn into a nasty, growly, bear. Granted, I won’t be getting much sleep this Saturday night/Sunday morning anyway. Airport at 4am. Blech. I get felt up by a TSA officer that early in the morning and I’m likely to get arrested. Just sayin’.

  14. Katie says:

Okay – I’m reading from the top down, so I still need to get to the back story on the dress… I love orange on my kids, but not so much on me.
Daylight savings time? Good grief! I’m just back from a week in Maine (which means a different time zone) and am getting a double hit. Monday morning will require STRONG coffee… : S

  15. Orangey shimmer sounds dreadful. Glad you didn’t plan on that one 😉 I think that 1 hour time changes mess with my system more than 2 or 3 hour time changes. It’s odd.

  16. Julie says:

My weekend was good and not so much. Saturday was good in that I got to see my eldest daughter that I had not seen since Christmas. My great friend picked her up, then me (Em’s car is kaputt). We went out to lunch then on a yarn crawl. I got some nice yarn to make a fun scarf for my grown up girl. It is red, not orange~sorry Chan. Glad Spring will come soon. Today I have the sniffles!

  17. Blond Duck says:

Ben and I were both screwed up. That and the fact I made mac and cheese and ate a exoribiant amount of hello dollies Sat night. Since Ben’s on a diet, we never eat rich food and needless to say, we were both dying.

As Elle said, “Whoever told her orange was the new pink is seriously disturbed.”

  18. Kathy says:

Orange???? It certainly didn’t look orange in the pics…hrmph!
    Hope your weekend was enjoyable.

  19. Anita says:

OMG! It was orange?! SNOL, yeah I can see you wearing that. he he. I’m glad you can take it back.
