Coffee and Teaberry

I’ve been reading a lot this week.  I read another of the tea shop cozies, the last currently available in paperback, I believe…  I do love teaberries though.  I’ve had the pleasure of plucking them from a bush in the wild, although I also enjoy the gum when I find it in some little country store.  (The 11th book in the series is the Teaberry Strangler.)

I’m two books into the Coffee House Mysteries now.   I know several of you enjoy cozies, but gMarie is personally responsible for getting me hooked on my third series.   As with the tea series, you can’t help learning more about coffee as you read along.  It is the main character’s – well, all of them actually – passion and she shares a lot about what makes a GOOD cup of coffee so much better than the average cup o’ joe.

Also on my reading list is a doggy biography.  Lapdog Creations had a giveaway, and I was one of the lucky winners.  We’re looking forward to reading this…  Gretchen just likes a good doggy story, and I suspect Sissy is looking for some pointers on how to promote herself even more.

Gretchen’s no-pull harness is on my radar again this weekend.  I just have to get motivated to drive across town and make the purchase!

I don’t know what else we’ll end up doing.  We’ll have to see what the Knight wants to do.

What’s on your weekend agenda?  Any big Father’s Day plans?

We just read ‘A Dog Named Slugger’ by Leigh Brill. It was a free download to my Kindle and is about a service dog. It gives great insight into the training of a service dog and what it brings to the disabled person. It brings so much more than you would think. Recommended reading!

We’re probably doing lots of doggy baths and trimming this weekend. Samba and Norma Jean are both having surgery on Monday, so we have to have them looking and smelling presentable.

    Working of course!
Fathers day delayed until monday night with our adult kids when it is convenient fo rall. Fireman working father’s day.
My own dad is a needy fellow. He wants a big old long visit and he wants to be aggrivating and domineering the whole visit…fun fun. Must work on this. I am excited about the gifts I found for him…..but
he can get on my very last nerve as another of my sister’s likes to say!

hmmm – today I’m knitting as fast as my fingers will allow to finish a very special hat. Then chiro, followed by work. I might reward myself with a stop by the quilt shop on my way home, then dinner out.

Tomorrow – Beer Fest! With a whole bunch of friends. JB has offered to be the DD but it’s father’s day and he’ll forget so I’ll just handle that little detail.

Sunday he wants to re-stain the deck. So I’m hoping to have time to finally finish the crazy bright print summer dress I cut out on Monday. It’s gonna be fun. My want to make list is way longer than the time I have. I hate that 😦 g

ps – I’m glad you are enjoying the books. Who do you like better? Theo or Claire? I think I relate a bit more to Claire – divorced, dealing with grown children, etc. But I love Theo.

We need to schedule our “read-along” though I suspect you 2 girls will finish far before me! 🙂

Let’s see…tomorrow i plan on getting some more annuals for bright color in the gardens, and then hopefully hit the gym at some point. Pampered Chef in the evening. Sunday morning might be going out to b-fast with Jamie, and saying goodbye to her. :o( boo. Other than that, getting in some pool time with Henry. fred is not interested…he has to be very hot to get in the pool, and then it is only to cool off, and then back out he goes. He does like to stand on the steps though and drink the water. must like the taste of chlorine!

Oooooh. I like the idea of the coffee house mysteries and learning more about coffee ~ right now my indulgence is Godiva’s Chocolate Truffle coffee!

I’m so bad, I haven’t been reading anything lately. I do however, know someone who may just be interested in this series of books. I’ll pop over and tell her about them.

Teaberry Gum is my very best favorite when I can find it. They’re opening a new Cracker Barrel in State College and I am usually lucky enough to find it there. fingers crossed:)

    Thanks for sharing, Channon.

P.S. I am absolutely delighted you are joining us for the Picnic Game this year. You are so invited and you’re bringing the letter D! “See” you there!!!

Weekend plans include working on getting the house ready for carpet cleaners. Weekend reality up to this point has included a lot of “Father Stories” yesterday and today on the radio (probably tomorrow too), so missing dad, missing my Hubband, and still hoping like crazy that he makes it out of O’Hare for the three hours in our local airport where I would get to see him tomorrow.

  9. StarSpry says:

Oooo…I’ll have to check out that doggy biography. Chihuahua’s are so adorable! We’re celebrating Father’s Day today so the Dads can do whatever they want to do tomorrow 🙂

I had to work on Mothers’ Day, and now I have to work on Fathers’ Day. I wish I could have the weekend off, but duty calls. We do have our first ultrasound on Monday morning, so that is something to look forward to!

I need to add that one to my Kindle. Let me know how it is, okay?
