Friday evening, my sweet little swap box from Kathy arrived.   Many of you know I’ve been on a swap diet, but Kathy had a little, low-maintenance swap and it was so very nice!  Kathy and I were swappers, and she sent me some darling stuff.

photoThe swap consisted of sock yarn, a pen and a gift certificate.  Isn’t this yarn yummy?!   I can’t wait to knit with it.  It’s actually a very warm, chocolate brown.  It will go fabulously with the happy little frock I hope to wear to Casino Night in February, so now I have to settle on a shawlette pattern…

Don’t you love the PANK syringe pen?  And Ben & Jerry’s…  I was hoping to get there last night, but we didn’t make it across town.  What’s your favorite Ben & Jerry’s flavor?

Thanks so VERY much, Kathy.  It was truly delightful to get to know you even better.

The rest of the weekend was spent K1,P1, K1,P1 into oblivion.  The fur-girls and I did have a fabulous walk on Saturday while it was still cool and the humidity wasn’t outrageous.  Yesterday, the heat and humidity clamped down on us quickly and made for a shorter, not as wonderful walk, but such is life.

How was your weekend?

Just looking at soft yarn makes me want to go knit. Thank you!

That’s a nice little swap. The yarn is pretty and the pen is very cute. I’d want to carry that one and make people ask.

Ben and Jerry’s! We only recently started getting it here in nowhere, USA. Both Rob and I have the same favorite, Karmel Sutra. Yum!!!

We have rain today. Unfortunately it’s accompanied by thunder, so Morgan is a wreck and Noah’s barking a lot. Now it’s not just hot, but humid, too.

“Low-maintenance” is the perfect description for this fun swap. Because of the guidelines, I didn’t have to think about what to include. I loved it!

That is a pretty yarn! It rained close to 4″ here this weekend I was just happy to be in a place where I was allowed to turn the thermostat below 85 degrees if I want to. I’ve never had B&J ice cream. It’s a reaction to the snobbery that people used to exhibit when it first came out, I think. Plus, Bryers french vanilla is my favorite, anyway.

I haven’t done a swap in a long time because I believe I have enough yarn to last me several lifetimes. I kind of miss them though.

    You got some pretty yarn!

What a fun little swap box!

  9. We only get Ben and Jerry’s in the market here. Glad you enjoyed your “swap-ette”. My weekend…yeah, we’ll have to chat about that!

Yummy yarn, and yummy ice cream! That chocolate-y color is delicious, what is it? (I couldn’t read the tag.)

We are heading to VT for Labor Day weekend, and I plan to stop at the B&J factory, to taste a ton of their flavors.. right now I love “half baked” It is so good! But maybe I’ll find a new flavor during our trip.

Yummy yarn – I’ve knit hats and socks from that yarn and it’s fabulous. Enjoy. B&J is only available through the grocery – I think they have a banana flavor that I love!

My weekend – lovely and relaxing. g

Seeing that pen makes me remember when those first became really popular. I was in high school at the time. They actually banned them at my school because the teachers were afraid someone would sneak a real syringe in and they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. lol

  13. I really love that yarn. I had some in red that I made some cabled socks from … it was lovely to work with. Dream in Color is still my fave though.

The syringe pen is cute…and Ben and Jerry’s…Americone Dream all the way.

    Nice swap.
My weekend was spent dodging the sweat drops from heat and humidity.
Favorite B&J’s ice cream flavor? Cherry Garcia….YUM!
