New neckwear

Happy Thorsday, little friday and thankful thursday!  I’ve posted a review of our new Lupine harnesses over on the girls’ blog, but I’m going to continue the Pet Expectations/Lupine love here too.   (Be sure to click over to Lupine and wait for the pirate and the basset photo!)

Gretchen's first Lupine 11-2008

I love Lupine.  LOVE.  The boy dogs chewed each other out of countless rolled leather collars as pups, so when I discovered Lupine and their unconditional guarantee, I was RIGHT THERE.  They also have wonderful patterns, styles, etc., so whatever you’re looking for, they have it… now that they’ve added the fab no-pull harness to the line-up.  And yes…  we’ve tested their guarantee.  That cute harness we passed down to Micro?  Yeah…  Sissy chewed the original off of baby Gretchen the first time she wore it.

Anyway, the new no-pull is the answer to our prayers, so Thankful Thursday is rather covered too…  We’re grateful for Jill at Pet Expectations and for Lupine!  Isn’t it great when there are fabulous companies that truly care about your pet?

I suppose you’re wondering how Lupine stays in business when their guarantee is so fabulous.  Well…

October 2011 007Pank fades.  I had no idea how much so until new vs. old was side by side.  Plus, while the wee one ain’t happy, we’ve moved up to the 3/4″ size for her, to match the harness, and because that’s what Lupine recommends for Jack Russells, because pound for pound, they’re stronger than the average small dog.

And yes, that’s the same pattern, Puppy Love.  Looks like it was made for Gretchen Greer, doesn’t it?!  Pretty and preppy with a dose of love on top…  Another reason I love Lupine.  When form meets function, it’s a beautiful thing.

October 2011 005Likewise, I moved Sis up to a 1″ pattern, Sunny Days.  I loved her now-retired Picnic Basket, and I suppose I could have looked into getting a custom harness made for her, but…  Sunny Days is a good fit too.  She has a sunny disposition, and after all, the Queen should wear royal purple, right?

I also feel as though the wider web will dispurse any potential “stress” on her neck more evenly.  Maybe that’s crazy, but that’s what I do…  I obsess about Sis and her glaucoma (and her food allergies) and then do what I can to assure her greatest, safest quality of life.

Along the Thankful Thursday theme, are you wearing purple today for Spirit Day?  I am… and obviously, the fur girls wear purple every day.  It’s something small that says I care and want the world to be a kinder place; bullying is NEVER okay.

Love those collars – so is the Lupine no-pull harness the one I finally convinced JB to use for Miss Lucy? If so, maybe I’ll looking into getting Beau one. Did not know about the purple, but i’m not dressed for work yet, so there’s still time…..

We are big fan of lupine!

Funnily enough I am wearing purple today in the form of my scarf (actually has several different shades of purple in it). Will have to check out the harness. Abby the Dobie is a first-class puller–enough to drag me off my feet.

So you’ve already experienced the Lupine guarantee in action! We’re packing up Sky’s collar today and sending it off. It’s nice not to have to run out to buy a new collar for the boy. He can wear an old one till the replacement arrives.

Does the no pull harness have a front loop? How does it prevent pulling?

The new collars are pretty. It’s nice that you can find good looks along with great function. It makes life nicer for the fussy dog-mom!

I’m wearing blue with sunny flowers and a white top. I had no idea of the purple thing (and I lack purple in the closet or the fabric, other than a piece or 2 of lilac), and I don’t want to change the outfit now. Le Sigh.

  7. I had no idea it was Spirit day (yes I do live under a rock) but I am wearing a purple plaid flannel shirt!

Apparently your calendar has more holidays on it than mine. So no purple here, but I am wearing a shawl I made about a year ago, a burgandy colored Ishbel, and I got a compliment from my boss.

Very cute collars, especially the pink preppy one! I love hearts in all forms.

Yes, I’m wearing purple today…though I didn’t know anything about the event you mentioned….glad you have happiness in Dog Land with your new harnasses. It’s been a very busy week, to be followed by a busy weekend, and nother busy week. Hope you get some time off!

Queen Bitty has a pink harness!

You know we’re HUGE Lupine fans as well… and let me tell ya, pank ain’t the only one that fades! lol 🙂 I have no complaints for a collar that lasts longer than the brightness though… 🙂

Micro’s harness is still going strong, other than being frayed where he chews on it occasionally. I really need to get him a better collar, though. His old one has been rubbing that very soft, almost hairless skin on his neck and I feel just awful when I see how irritated it is.
