Wave Infinity

DSC03235Oh look!  Chan does still knit.  Isn’t that special?!  Actually, I have at least three other FOs I haven’t shared for a variety of reasons, but I really love everything about this one.

Project:  Wave Infinity

Pattern:  Wave Cowl by Plymouth, available at Dog House Yarns & More.   It’s rare that I buy a pattern, much less use the yarn called for in the pattern, but there you go.  Who knew?!  They work perfectly together.  This was my first dropped stitch pattern in a very long time, and it sure was fun.  I obviously did the infinity version.

Yarn:  Plymouth Kudo.  Can’t tell you which colorway, because I took one for the team and purchased the skein without a tag.  It’s a beauty though, with a wine base and then lots of browns, greens and a shot of turquoise even.  I *LOVE* this yarn.  If like Noro, give it a try!

Needles:  US #8 circs.  I used the Susan Bates 26″ or whatever, in part because the tips were the same color as the blue in the yarn and that made me happy.

My attempt at a “full length” photo for you. Clearly, it gets the DIVA stamp of approval.

Verdict:  Beautiful, quick, easy, and super-nice to wear.  I wore it all day last Thursday, a long day that had me dressed up for something like 14 hours.  I would love to make a skirt with this colorway too…

How was your weekend?  Do anything exciting?

My weekend was long but plans changed all over the place. Friday was okay – I stayed home and freaked out over the hot tub going flying over my house. It’s now in place and the cover is attached, but there is no heat. Saturday had me completing my 12th 5k of the year – crossed the finish line at 43 something. Not official time. Then I went to a craft fair where I bought the birthday girl some homemade treats and bought stained glass paw prints as a memorial. Missed the ‘grandkids’ because the boy got sick. So that was good – I was exhausted. Sunday found us at the mall, Jay bought all the girls jewelry for Christmas and I helped pick out Krystle’s birthday jewels. Yes – he spoils his girls. I’m hoping tonight to find the energy for yoga if nothing else and then spend some quality time with scissors and flannel. g

Totally spaced commenting on your knitting project. I was busy answering the questions! So – if the Kudo rough like Noro? I love the color runs in Noro but hate the ‘roughness.’ Might try the kudo if it’s softer. The scarf is lovely. Have to chase the pattern because I can’t see the dropped stitches thanks to the lovely models. g

LOVE… beautiful cowl, gorgeous yarn… I might have to go look for the pattern!

I bet the cowl looks great on you, too. ;oD

Saturday found me at my sewing machine (the first time in months) and Sunday was a day of rest and knitting a bit.

Beautiful cowl but I think you are going to have a hard time getting it away from Sissy! Whatever the colors are they are beautiful and happy indeed. I really like the Wave Infinity pattern even though I do not like dropped stitch knitting–just one of my silly dislikes. I can’t, however, argue with gorgeous!!

WOw Channon . Great knit up. Not sure which pup looks better with it……well, I guess SISSY …MAybe. So glad you already put it on and wore it well

Great pictures of both the girls. Clearly they want their own scarves. I’m buying infinity scarves for the girls for Christmas, because we know I lack knitting talent. I like that color; I’m sure it looks great on you.

What lovely models you have. It looks like Sis thinks it makes an excellent blanket. Aren’t dogs great? Even if my knitting project turns out badly the dogs think it’s wonderful and if I mess up a recipe they eat it happily without complaint. What more could anyone want?

Gretchen is such a serious model! Lovely colors!

Love the Cowl! but will you get it back?? It’s looking doubtful!

I spent the weekend with my Dad- it was great!! Some knitting and lots of great food!

Pretty cowl. I see Sissy made sure she got on top of it before you could hang it around her neck.

DH and I were down in Newport News this Fri/Sat house hunting for our AF son (to buy) since he is being transferred there in Feb, but can’t visit before the move. Went to 17 houses in a day and a half… but he put an offer in on the one we recommended. Living dangerously, eh?

Well I would totally comment on all the knitting talk but its like chinese to me. All I can say that it turned out very pretty and the girls look amazing in it!

My weekend….spent shopping for neices and nephews for dec/jan birthdays and xmas for them. I also spent some time making some hair bows/bands for my cousins twin neices.
I completely avoided doing any cleaning and laundry and grocery shopping!

My husband has all the nursery furniture almost finished!!!

We had 3 German students from the university over for dinner on Sunday and they helped us decorate our tree. I do love these occasions to introduce our kiddos to other cultures without us leaving our home. Last year we had Korean students. This year we have the Germans, 3 Chinese, and a boy from Malaysia. They live on campus or in apartments, and we just get to hang out with them as their adopted family.

So glad the house is starting to look like Christmas. It has been upsetting to Holly though. She didn’t like when we took down the blue bins that have the decorations. Then she decided the tree (fake) was to chew on. And she’s stollen a few ornaments already. And she’s been so good all year. Only once chewed on the table (at 12 weeks) and never chewed a shoe (although she will pick up a kids shoe and run with it to get attention). So…we’ll have to keep an eye on her with all the Christmasy things around.

I really like this pattern! I don’t wear cowls since it’s not too cold here but I love how they look!
