National Pet Day!

Happy National Pet Day, Thorsday, little friday and Thankful Thursday.   I have a quick question for the glaucoma-aware over on the girls’ blog, if you have a chance.

Leading on…

It’s still a little crazy-hectic here, but piece by piece, the League stuff is falling in place.  However, my personal trainer – aka: Sissy – remains steadfast in her determination to get a walk EVERY SINGLE DAY.  She didn’t care that it was 91 degrees yesterday; she wanted a walk.  Gg came along reluctantly, and after less than a quarter of a mile, she simply stopped, so we went home.  I thought we were going to call it done, but no…  DIVA insisted.  That would be the double-coated dog, the one who should be most affected by the heat.  We walked a little over a half mile, so she got over a mile for the very hot “Spring” day…

I still track our miles on Subaru’s app for dog walkers, but recently I also added Charity Miles.  Yes, both apps will work at the same time, although they rarely agree on the precise distance.  I’m truly grateful for technology that makes it REALLY easy to make a difference, and I am blown away that Charity Miles is also hosting a couple of contests for today’s big event.

What technology are you thankful for today?

What’s up with that sun worshiping thing? Macy is also a double-coated dog, yet she will sprawl in the sun for hours and refuse to come in.

Technology? I am so thankful for my Kindle and all such devices (Nook, iPad etc.). I can carry a dozen+ books with me instead of one dog-eared paperback or a hard cover that doesn’t fit in my purse.

I am thankful for all the moisture in the last storm that blanketed the area. I’d prefer to have the liquid variety, but the snow was welcome, too.

The new Oticon hearing aids!!! In jumping up and down exuberance, Gg style. Have a wonderful time exploring, too!

  4. Skype or any other version of same idea, which lets me talk ” face to face” with my adult children where ever they are in this world!

It was mid 80s on Monday and Mom put the air on in the house. Yesterday we had thunder storms all day and today it’s 42, so Mom put the heat back on again. We’re grateful for the thermostat. And the stove because she just made some sweet potato/oatmeal biscuits. Yum!!

I’m grateful for my generator, which was ready to be needed during the thunderstorms last evening. I’m telling myself that the power didn’t bother to quit, because it knew that I am now Prepared! It’s colder here today, so I hope it cooled down for you and the girls, too.

I can’t believe it’s so warm there already. That might rule Virginia out – just sayin’. Glad things are falling into place and working out. Has that beach trip fallen in yet? Umm – there was a question in there – but I don’t have the foggiest idea what it was. I’m losing my mind – honestly. I went downstairs on Tuesday night to grab the sewing room garbage and just scooped up all the scraps from my most recent dress. Last night when I went to put the dogs away – I thought, did I say a piece of that fabric? Because I still need a small piece to make a ‘knot’ for the neck-tie. Umm – no. Threw it all out. Of course the garbage truck has already come and gone. I guess the sleeves will be just a little bit shorter now.

Oh – Charity Miles – I need to look into that. I use Endomondo currently. Really, I only care about my pace – I want to see that improving or averaging what it is. I’m mostly okay with the current pace of 16 minute mile – especially since my knee and lower leg still hurt.

    End Ramble. Happy Friday. g
