On Target for Fall

Courtesy of Target

For someone who really HAD to purchase a new wardrobe last year, I’m still doing a lot of shopping.   I’ve been looking for the perfect red trench coat, and still haven’t found it (to those in the know, the Land’s End red thing went back; I didn’t like the fabric), but I do need a lowish-hip trench, and Target has a black one on sale.  I always feel uncomfortable wearing a tan trench to a funeral, so at this price, I have a funeral coat, if nothing else.

I also found a peplum dress I am certain will work on my body.  I would still like a pepulm top, but maybe Target will produce one in a similar design?  I had another ponte knit dress from Target, and it was of a good quality, so I’m sure this will suit me too.  It might not be a true, full peplum, but it’s just what my body ordered.   (My apologies…  you’ll have to click over and look around if you really want to see it on a body, but in short, the peplum is only on the sides.)

Do let me know if you see a great, true red, low-to-mid-hip length, classic trench.  The one that started this craving was in Chicago.  Sigh.   (Yes, Target had it in an acceptable red in the spring, but by the time I found it, my size was gone.)

What are you looking for?

The black trench is classic. I’m sorry the LE red trench was icky. Because the color and style were perfect. Did you get the dress in blue or green? I think the little hint of a peplum will suit you perfectly! Anyone with a booty that juts out (as ours do) doesn’t really need a ruffle sitting there saying – hey look at me!!

I’m looking for the boots that got away. And if I don’t do something about it soon, it will be the red cowboy boots from ShoeDazzle. Did you jump on that one?

I am going to start asking Nordstrom for a fee http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ellen-tracy-single-breasted-trench-coat-nordstrom-exclusive/3248833?origin=keywordsearch&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=Ruby+Red&resultback=1189
Also, type in “red trench coat” in the search…had quite a few options of various lengths and prices.

    Looking for…my mind.

    A good nightgown.

The red, mid-thigh length coat that I bought at Costco is probably a little heavy to be called “trench” but you might take a look at it if you have a Costco nearby. I also found a waist-length, zip up jacket in purple that is faux-fur lined and reversible. I love finding treasures in unexpected places!!

I love the dress. I also like the similar Target dress that has 3/4 sleeves. Who would have thought that Target would be so fashion forward?

Reading between the lines (or should I say reading the first line?), it sounds like you’ve maintained your weight loss and healthy lifestyle for a whole year. Congratulations!

I like the color of that dress; it should look great on you! Glad to see you recovering from your little trip last week.

  7. I love a good trench coat. I haven’t seen one yet that I’ve fallen in love with. Now, cardigans are another story. I have quite the collection of cardigans. LOL

I’ll keep my eye out for a fab red coat for you. Since I had the surgery and have started PT, I need easy, comfortable workout clothes that won’t irritate my healing incision on my back. I am a glitzy kind of girl – I am not a sweat pant kind of girl, I don’t even own one pair. My DH went all over our Podunk little village for anything I could wear. Nothing. I went online, finally settling on Walmart for a couple of pairs of leggings/yoga pants and light zip sweat shirts. Great. Cheap, fast shipping and will do the job. I ordered a couple different sizes after I noticed that all the workout wear was really fitted and that’s not me, especially now. So glad I ordered up! I’m uncomfortable enough, don’t need tight clothes on top of that. Wore the first outfit yesterday, felt comfortable, but was quickly reminded why I wear Jeans and not black bottoms. Yep – 3 affectionate bassets who shed like fiends 🙂

  11. Bummer about the red LE coat…glad you’re happy about the peplum…I just cannot get into that style! What am I looking for? Jeans that fit well and comfortably would be truly wonderful. 🙂 A girl can dream…
