Well, I missed the contest deadline for our Blue Mountain Handcrafts group on Ravelry, but I finally finished my blue batt. The Knight and I were working on wrapping the yarn on the niddy noddy during the crazy storm that rocked the city, and then, I gave it a nice bath.
It dried overnight, so I snapped photos while the girls had their first trip outside of the morning.
Blue Mountain Scyllia Batt
This was my first true laceweight yarn. I spun extremely fine singles and then plied 750 yards or so of them with a blue metallic thread. THIS is one yarn I’m keeping for me. While there’s plenty of room for improvement, I think it’s going to make a lovely shawl of one sort or another.
Not all of the yarn got plied with the metallic thread. When I ran out of thread, I just navajo plied the remainder.
It turned into a nice, fingering weight yarn. Pity I only have about 135 yards.
That’s a close-up of the laceweight. You can really see all the extra bling from the metallic thread!
So, what are your plans for the weekend for the last weekend in June?
Chan Knits 
I think we might all be doing a rain dance in the back yard if we don’t get some precip soon. Other than that I’m counting the hours till my four weeks of recovery is over. On Tuesday I see the doc and then I can get to work on some stitching.
The pups will spend their weekend running in and out, snoozing and begging for snacks, much the same as every other day.
Celebrating our 30th!
That yarn is gorgeous!! I will be celebrating turning 34 this year!

Sitting in the AC with my leg up healing and knitting are my only plans for the weekend!!!
That yarn is incredible! And the yardage!!! I’m spinning my purple batt now. I can get a much thinner single with batts than I can with roving. I think it’s because the fibers are fluffed up more & draft easier….
My goal for the weekend is to do as little work as possible. 🙂

Last weekend of June? It’s the last weekend? Oh my gosh….I have no idea where the month disappeared. Looks like we’re spending it in the pool and in front of the fan 😦

I was hoping to get a good amount of knitting done this weekend, but, instead I’ve been running a lot of errands. I did re-watch ‘Twilight’ and ‘New Moon’ with friends in preparation for ‘Eclipse’ on Tuesday 🙂
