Seems my previous template with WordPress was no longer being supported, so this is the updated version. I’m a little cranky about the header; on the preview, that black “fabric” box isn’t there. Oh well. Otherwise, I’m very happy with the new template, and with Google Chrome. I just started using it yesterday, and I’m a fan. I hope it will work on my ancient computer at work…
We interrupt this post report to announce that FINALLY, we’re having a snow day! It’s still snowing nice and hard here, so enjoy a photo from last month’s snow. It’ll likely be gone by nightfall if it warms up and this beautiful snow turns to rain, but we’ve already been out and enjoyed it so that’s okay.
What do you do on a snow day? The Knight has to get in the hot tub and let snow fall on his bare head. The fur-girls have to rip and race until Gretchen starts to shiver. Me? I just like to watch the pure, white blanket cover up everything in sight. At the moment, I have Gg pressed against my leg, Sissy’s snoring a few inches beyond her, and I have a cup of Dunkin’ Donuts‘ mint coffee at hand. I’m also catching up on Charmed. It’s one of the few series I record, and when WE tv stops airing it every weekday, I might cry.
Oh yeah. That finished object report… I did title the post accordingly!
Meet Blue Bugga Grace. I cast on July 4th and finished December 29th, but it’s a much faster knit than those dates imply.
Pattern: Cinnamon Grace is a happy little pattern, but have you ever seen blue cinnamon? Me neither. Besides, I started this project back when I was trying to do Project Spectrum.
Yarn: I couldn’t resist the Sanguine Gryphon’s Skinny Bugga! in blue stink bug. Now, I’ve never seen a blue stink bug, but we sure were over-run by the brown ones here. It seems that 10% cashmere isn’t enough to really make a yarn irresistible to Gretchen, but I’m not taking any chances. The hue was yummy, and the yarn was a joy to knit with.
Needles: US #2 circs. I think for a change, perhaps I should have gone up a size. My scarf didn’t block out nearly as wide/long as the one in the pattern photos. Oh well. I still love it!
Verdict: Great firehouse project. It was truly mindless and easy to pick up after I hadn’t touched it in weeks. It’s going to look fabulous with my grey winter coat.
Snow update: Even the City fire engines are marking out of service to put on chains. CHAINS. On March 5th. I love it!!
What are you loving today?
Blue Bugga Grace is going to look fabulous on your grey coat!
On snow days, I like to read, knit, or sew, but I do love to watch the flakes come down, too, as long as the wind isn’t howling.
Snow day in March! Yea! I love to be cuddled up knitting or reading with a hot beverage – coffee, tea. Sometimes I enjoy getting out in the quiet and walking the dogs.
Love your finished shawl. How cute! Enjoy your bonus day off – I’m sure you need it. g
For me snow days mean TOM is home so my day goes topsy turvey but since he loves to drive in it, it doesn’t keep us down or out, but since October we haven’t even had one here that I wouldn’t drive in and I don’t usually do snow.
Love Blue Bugga Grace!!
The snow is beautiful! We didn’t get any this year and I’m already thinking about how/when I’m going to get my snow fix.
Your scarf/shawl is lovely, perfect for Gg! She looks gorgeous in blue. I hope Sissy will model it for us as well!!
I love that blue color! Really nice project.
It doesn’t snow where I live so we never get to enjoy snow days. However, I was home for Christmas and really had fun in the deep snow there. After a few days boyfriend was surprised and disgusted at how “dirty” the snow was next to the roads. Silly Texan had never experienced snow before.
That is really pretty and I love the color. Was it hard to do? I like to knit, and prefer small projects so I don’t get bored, but can only do the basics. My goal this year is to stretch out of my comfort zone and try new things. And learn to knit socks! We had a couple of inches here but it seems to be melting. I like to stay in, near the fire with the girls cuddling close and watch a movie with my boy as I spin or knit.
Chains in March. Wow. You might get that going over Donner Pass to Lake Tahoe here, but, wow.
Love the scarf!
You finally get winter and we have spring. The trees are starting to bud, the grass is growing and the temps are in the 70s. What kind of a crazy winter is this?
We had a dusting yesterday, on the heels of 55 on Saturday, and it’s cold enough for snow today, but nice and sunny. Believe it or not, cities and towns hereabouts are whining in the paper today that they have too much salt to store for the summer. Hmph. Towns, will you please shut up now?
Any snow that was here this morning was gone by the time that I woke up this afternoon. Which is all well and good; I like snow, but not on the days that I might have to drive in it. 🙂
That scarf is beautiful! What a lovely shade of blue!
I love love love the sleek new look of the blog Channon!!!!
I love the blog bug knit up…gorgeous.
Supposed to be 6o here tomorrow, although cooler near the Lake always applies….
Here’s hoping to open a few windows.
NEXT workend IM OFF!!! Whoopee bring on thankful thursday without a cringe for me!
I love Google Chrome! I don’t know why it took me so long to use it!
Love the Blue Bugga and model! While you were enjoying a snow day, we were enjoying the sunshine. I don’t do anything on snow days….as we only get a light dusting about once every ten years or so.
Love the updated look! I’ve not heard of Google Chrome but will look that up since you sound so pleased with it 🙂 Love your pretty new scarf. I have some skinny bugga in red that I’m looking forward to trying!
Yay for snow days!! I love the snowy trees picture. Your scarf is beautiful and Gretchen looks adorable modeling it 🙂
Only snow showers up this way. Lovely scarf and color.
Love the new look!
Happy Snow Day!!! 🙂 I enjoy spending them inside with the Lapdogs, a cuppa, some knitting and guilty pleasure TV!
LOVE the Blue Bugga! Very pretty… and what a fine model you have there.
I too love the new look Channon. It really does look “sleek” & fabulous! It’s a GREAT background for the girls too:)
I don’t know much about Chrome but I suppose I should look into it. I am seriously convinced WP is the way for me to go especially since blogger changed their commenting system. What a pain. I turned my moderation off but I’m paying for it in Spam! (which I don’t really mind deleting:) The problem is, I’m really not up to learning something new if it is too complicated. I just don’t have the time. But…the time may be here sooner than I hope:)
No snow here. We’re expecting high 60s tomorrow. The tulips are actually thinking about peeking their heads, the crocus are up and there’s buckets on every Maple tree in the area! Earlier than usual. I have my Maple syrup on order, lol…
Thanks for sharing…That scarf is a stunning color!
Love the scarf! Keeping my fingers crossed we won’t need chains in a couple weeks. O.o
You could do a custom design for your blog…
